One Direction on The Jonathan Ross Show

One Direction's interview on The Jonathan Ross Show (which was prerecorded on Friday) was aired yesterday evening!
There was plenty of excitement about this because it's been a very long time since the boys have done an interview in the UK…it was brilliant having them on our TVs again.

The interview was filled with the normal relationship questions, which I totally get why interviewers ask but frankly they're getting a bit boring and all the fans know the answers to the questions already, but there was some funny parts and cute bits too. Namely when Niall said he really needed the toilet and wanted to leave the interview, when Zayn told the story about Louis telling him plane's did 'loopty loops' in the air when they take off, Harry appreciating nice views, and Jonathan basically teasing the boys about different things.

It was a really funny and cute interview, if you haven't seen it yet then watch it here -

One Direction Top Under 30's Rich List

One Direction have now topped another chart!
They came number 1 in the under 30's rich list for British celebs, rising from number 5 last year.

Photo from Teen Vogue

One Direction have topped the chart with a £59.33 million fortune! Wowza.
Ever since the chart was created 3 years ago Daniel Radcliffe has also been top, but he's slipped down to second place now with a still huge £56.19 million fortune.

The just under £60 million figure came from a panel of experts who examined all their record sales, TV show appearances, the movie, product endorsements, etc.
The boys were included in the list as a single entry because their total earnings were generated by the group, rather than solo work.

It's said One Direction have made over £12 million each in the last year alone.

The top 10 list is here -

1. One Direction £59.33m
2. Daniel Radcliffe £56.19m
3. Robert Pattinson £44.16m
4. Keira Knightly £37.28m
5. Emma Watson £27.93m
6. Adele £27.54m
7. Rupert Grint £24.09m
8. Calvin Harris £22.21m
9. Cheryl Cole £15.50m
10. Leona Lewis £14.45,

Liam and Niall Talk About 'Difficult' Australia Trip

It's not often the boys in One Direction get serious when it comes to talking about their worldwide fame, they seem to quite chilled about it all and know that they have to make scarifies if they want to be in the biggest boy band in the world. But Liam and Niall opened up to the Herald Sun about their 'difficult' trip to Australia and New Zealand this time around.

Liam said "To be fair, it has been quite difficult in Australia this time"
"In the grand scheme of things worldwide I have gone out a lot less in Australia than anywhere else. I tried to go shopping one day and literally within minutes there were 60 girls following me around the shops. If one picture of you gets tweeted everyone knows exactly where you are and that's you done for the day, then you're stuck with people following you around"
Liam added that sometimes they weren't even able to leave their hotel rooms, and that people should remember they're just normal guys who need some down time occasionally.
"We are just normal lads, we do want our privacy sometimes just to throw a football around and let off a bit of steam, rather than constantly being in the public eye."

Niall agreed and admitted to asking their tour manager, Paul, if he could get him a top hotel room because he knew he'd be spending most of his time there. But he added..
"You have to look past it sometimes and just get out. There's no point living like a prisoner in your hotel. Even if they are nice hotels!"

I think it is easy for us as fans, or just onlookers, to forget how hard it must be for the boys sometimes.
It's easy to just see the good things, loads of money, getting to travel the world, having their dream job, etc, but if you actually take a moment to think about the negatives it's quite daunting.
I don't think I could handle being followed around constantly, anything you do gets photographed and you never get some peace. I know some of the boys are very private people as well.
And when Liam did stay in his hotel room someone actually climbed onto his balcony and stole his boxers…seriously, no privacy! Crazy.

Liam said before they came to Australia he couldn't wait to get a tan and go surfing lots, but he actually hasn't been able to as much as he'd like because of all the fans and paps.
Must be annoying being in such a fantastic place and not being able to enjoy it fully!
On top of all this they're half way across the world, away from family and friends….
I quite admire them for putting up with everything as much as they do, and they cope with it amazingly well.

One Direction confirm X-Factor UK 2013 Performance

It's no surprise that as One Direction are X-Factor's most successful contestants EVER, and now the biggest boy band in the world, X-Factor and the boys themselves would want to return to the live shows….AND IT'S HAPPENING.

After coming 3rd in 2010 and having such huge success the 1D boys seem like the perfect artists to come back to the studios to show this years contestants winning isn't everything, and how great a platform X-Factor is.

Even more excitingly I expect they'll perform their new single that is released on 28th October  - Story Of My Life!

Not date has been confirmed yet, but I'll keep you informed!

This Is Us Extended Cut

Well, here's some exciting news - as if This Is Us wasn't totally filled with amazingness before it has been confirmed today that an extended cut of the film is to be released!

There will be 20 minutes of new footage, including 4 more songs and behind the scenes goodness! Eeeeek. I can hear the fangirl screams!

Jeff Blake, Sony's Chairman Of Worldwide Marketing and Distribution said this -
We're overwhelmed by the response to the film, so we're thrilled to be able to release this extended cut of the film for One Direction fans. Followers can reach out on Twitter @1DThisIsUs with the songs they'd like to hear in the film - and go to the theatre on Friday to see and hear which songs make the cut."

Okay, so 20 minutes more of One Direction on our screens in 3D, we get a say in what songs we see  AND it's out this week? Oh the excitement.

Obviously this is a way of Sony and everyone else involved in the movie getting more money out of it, with $50 million estimated to have been made already it's not like they really need it, but I'm not complaining and I'll most definitely be taking a trip to my local cinema to see the extended cut, probably more than once! (Just do some good with that money, yeah?)

Louis Tomlinson Charity Football Game

Louis Tomlinson, as we probably all know, recently signed as a non-contract player for Doncaster Rovers - all the money he would have earned by playing for them will go to charity.
But before his first game for Doncaster Louis played in a game yesterday for Celtic. The match was for charity, all for former Bulgarian footballer Stiliyan Petrov who has battled leukaemia. The football teams were made up of former and current footballers, and other celebrities and they all helped raise thousands of pounds for the cause.

Wherever any member of One Direction go though there seems to be some sort of drama, and this football match was no exception.
The first thing that happened was when Louis' name was read out at Celtic Park the place irrupted with the sound of people booing (Video here) which was just disgusting. I totally understand if people don't like One Direction, I get that and respect that everybody has different opinions but to boo someone for anything is just vile, let alone at a charity match. The people that booed were footballs fans, not the fans that had flocked to see Louis, so they were there for Petrov. I don't know if they were forgetting that Petrov is the reason Louis was playing, he was doing it for charity and to help people out - that's a fact and him being in 1D doesn't change that. There is so much mob mentality at football games!
Anyway, we all (anyone with a brain) knows Louis was doing a good thing, and he's a million times better than anyone who booed.

Louis looked like he was really enjoying the game, until the next bit of drama occurred. Louis went to kick the ball and then he was tackled by professional Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor, who tripped him up.  (VIDEO HERE)

Louis seemed to fall awkwardly on his knee and laid on the pitch for a little while, before getting up and limping off to the side of the pitch, where he appeared to throw up, he then spent the rest of the game on the subs bench.
Louis' managed for the day said this "Agbonlahor smashed into him and he picked himself up, and then was ill in the dressing room area but he's not too bad now I think"
Things like this do happen in football all the time, Louis just got unlucky, but do remember that Agbonlahor didn't hurt Louis on purpose, and he has already apologised.

Hours after the game had finished Louis' mum took to twitter to say Louis was resting his knee and he understood that was what could happen in football and was now enjoying watching The X-Factor with his girlfriend, Eleanor, and friend, Stan.

The whole point of this charity match was to raise money for Petrov and to raise awareness, and that was definitely achieved. Thousands of pounds were raised for his cause, which Louis helped hugely with as ticket sales rocketed after it was announced he was playing, so a massive well done to everyone involved in making the event such a success for Petrov. I hope football fans do remember that all those celebrities contributed to that, and stop being thuggish and nasty about the whole thing, the tweets I've seen on twitter have been horrendous.

Louis' next match is for Doncaster Rovers on 18th September, all money he raises will go to Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice. Tickets £7 here!

One Direction NEW ALBUM!

One Direction have announced today that they're releasing their 3rd album on the 25th November 2013! Yipeee.

The album, which is going to have a more rocky feel and more grown up lyrics, will be called Midnight Memories (loving the name) and this is how they teased the name before the 100% confirmed announcement later on -

WATCH HERE!

One Direction's first album Up All Night (2011) peaked at number 2 in the UK charts and number 1 in the US charts, and their second album Take Me Home (2012) reached number 1 in both the UK and the US..along with 33 other countries, and was the fourth bestselling album of the year, selling over 4.4 million units.
So Midnight Memories is expected also to do really well!

I can't wait to buy it and listen to it on repeat.

I Went To See This Is Us

Yesterday I went to my local cinema to see One Direction: This Is Us 3D, I expected it to be good but it definitely exceeded my expectations!

Firstly, I'd like to say, if you haven't see it yet you may not want to read this…I won't post any real details of what happened, no big spoilers, but if you want everything to be a complete surprise then stop. Also, if you haven't seen it yet make sure you see it in 3D! Normally I'm not impressed by 3D but this was amazing, so good and I really think it added so much to the movie, especially through the concert parts.

I love how cleverly it was filmed, I was kind of expecting the concert parts to not be as interesting but the 3D was amazing, they slowed down some footage, they filmed in the crowd, and actually on the stage and the boys often interacted with the camera. They also did this clever thing where they changed the boys to cartoons for a split second (go and see it to see what I mean). So good. It was quite beautiful and I got shivers down my spine on several occasions.
As well as the brilliant concert footage there was lots of behind the scenes and just the boys hanging out and having time off footage which was really lovely to see. I feel like with interviews now we don't get to see One Directions friendship so much anymore, and it was just nice to be reminded how close they are and how well they get on. One of my favourite scenes is actually just when Liam and Harry are fishing and they're just having a chat, it seemed so peaceful, so normal.
You can tell they have such a laugh together, enjoy each others company and theres no-one in the world they'd rather be on this adventure with.

One Direction often talk about being in a bubble, as they are the ones in the band they can't see One Direction from the outside, from other peoples perspectives and after seeing This Is Us I feel like fans are in that bubble too. Because we are part of the fandom it's hard for us to see the true hysteria 1D cause, it's hard to see the band the way the rest of the world see them. I don't know about everyone else but I certainly still think of 1D as not 'famous' in a way, I find it hard to comprehend how crazy things have got for them and how everyone knows them - seeing the film really opened by eyes to that, I find it mind-blowing, amazing, I was so proud of how far those 5 boys, now young men, have come.

I think One Direction deserve so much credit, it's easy to say that they're living the life. Girls falling at their feet, a bank balance of goodness knows how much, getting to travel the world, etc but you have to remember the other side. It's hard for them to do normal things - there was one part in the film where 3/5 were shopping in Amsterdam, no one was bothering them and then BAM…one girl noticed them and within minutes they were being mobbed and had to hid out in a shop and wait for security men to come and help them escape the madness. They don't get to see their families anywhere near as much as they'd like - Louis' mum said he's only been home to Doncaster 5 times since living for the X-Factor 3 years ago. They don't get much privacy - paps follow them wherever they go, and everything they do is scrutinised. It's hard to know who to trust - with them being who they are they inevitably get people who like them because of the brand One Direction has become, rather than the funny, sweet, charming, lovely, talented guys they are. Sure, if you weigh up the pros and the cons the pros must outweigh the cons and they are so insanely lucky, but the pressure of all that, to them and their families, must be hard at any age…but when you think they're only 19-21 (16-18 at the beginning) it's just incredible and they need more respect for how grounded they still are, and how they've managed to stay so humble.

I challenge anyone to go and see this film and not get goosebumps. I challenge anyone to go and see this film and not come out liking the boys in One Direction. I challenge anyone to go and see this film and come out and say One Direction aren't nice, hardworking, passionate, down to earth guys.

Nostalgia

I'm sure all long term One Direction fans reminisce over X-Factor days, I am definitely one of those fans. Yesterday I watched every single X-Factor video diary, and it got me feeling nostalgic. I hadn't watched them in quite a while and it's amazing to see how far they've come and just how much they have changed.

Something that really got to me though was a few of the things the boys said, I thought I'd share them with you;
A few weeks into X-Factor live shows Justin Bieber performed, and this is what Niall said about it "Justin Bieber said hello to me, and it was pretty weird because he's such a big pop star all around the world"…. this actually gave me goosebumps, it's the fact that now, under 3 years on, One Direction are just as famous and they too are 'big pop stars all around the world'…also, Niall has hung out with Justin on a couple of occasions…crazy really.
In the boys last XF video diary they talk about their homecoming gigs, Harry says "It's really exciting for us that we're going to be doing loads of little gigs like that, some to bigger crowds" ohhh Harry, little did you know that 3 years later you'd have sold out your own stadium tour!
I just look at them and think 'you have no idea whats coming', maybe they had some idea they'd perhaps have success but they can't have imagined anything like the hysteria that now surrounds them.
Something that always chokes me up is when the boys finished in 3rd place and Simon Cowell says "this is just the beginning for these boys"…he could not have been more right.

I always watch the video diaries with such a smile on my face, but also slightly sad because it's almost like looking at different people sometimes. I noticed how much more relaxed One Direction seemed back then, things weren't as scripted or strict, everything was more laid back, comfortable and they seemed more themselves. I don't know whether it's just because they've now matured and of course got older or that they now do have to be careful exactly how they act and what they say because everything gets analysed and picked apart by the press and some 'fans'.

Actually, the thing that shocked me the most was seeing how much Harry has changed…looks wise. With pictures you can't really see it, but when you watch the videos it's pretty amazing. He looks ever so young, baby faced and like a little boy, whereas now he's got so much broader, his face shape has changed, just watch the video diaries (above) and you'll see what I mean.

I made these contrast photos as I was interested to see the change, it's crazy what 3 years can do.

Harry 2011 Harry 2013
Louis has changed more than I realised
Niall hasn't actually changed a huge amount
Liam - boy to a man
Zayn has always given that model pout and stare

Who do you think has changed the most?
What do you miss from XF days?

One Direction: This Is Us Tops US Box Office!

One Direction are winning awards, breaking records and topping charts left, right and centre, and heres another one to add to the list, their documentary style movie has topped the US and Canadian box office charts over this weekend!

The film, directed by Morgan Spurlock, which was released only 3 days ago in the USA has already made an incredible $17 million (£10.9 million)! Of course we expected it to well but that's pretty darn amazing in such little time, and a lot of people still haven't seen the film!
The film also topped the combined totals of every prior documentary by Morgan Spurlock on only the day after, as all of his previous films have earned just $12.5…I bet he's pleased!

Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Liam Payne

The film sits at number once, before Lee Daniels' The Butler coming in at number 2 ($14.7 million) and We're The Millers at number 3 ($12.6 million).

Although the film is doing brilliantly it didn't beat the debut earnings of Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, released in 2011, which made a huge $29.5 million in its first weekend.
Miley Cyrus still holds the record for 3D Music Documentary, with her film Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best Of Both Worlds Concert making $31.1 in its debut.

BUT with This Is Us only costing $10 million to make and with it earning $14.5 million in countries other than the US and that number expected to continue growing, who really cares? I'm sure everyone is more than happy, and lets not forget it shouldn't just be about the money! Fans are loving getting to experience One Direction in 3D, seeing what they get up to on tour, life with their families, the concerts and just getting to know the boys a little better. As a lot of people have been saying "you can't go into this film and not come out of the cinema being a fan of One Direction".

Liam's Birthday Night Out

There seems to be a lot of drama on twitter right now about a certain Mr Liam Payne's birthday night out at Funky Buddha, a nightclub in Mayfair, London.

Liam spent the day of his birthday with the other One Direction boys shooting a new video, and then in the evening he decided to go to a favourite club of his with his new girlfriend Sophia Smith and some other friends.

Liam with new girlfriend, Sophia.
Liam and Sophia

After celebrating inside the club, and getting rather drunk (who can blame him? Not every day you turn 20) Liam and his friends called it a night…at around 3:30am.
The drama I mentioned earlier comes from the following pictures of Sophia getting into the taxi with a man who's face is covered with a jacket. She is seen cosying up to him, leading people to believe she is cheating…which is NOT the case.
The guy getting into the cab is Liam's close friend, I'm not going to mention his name but I know exactly who it is and I can 100% confirm nothing funny is going on there.

Whether this was meant as a decoy so Liam didn't get mobbed after he left, or if it was just because they're friends who knows, but Sophia definitely is not cheating on Liam and if she were doing you can't honestly think she'd be doing it outside the same club Liam was in with a lot of paps there..

In my opinion people read too much into things and at the moment as Sophia is 'new' people aren't accepting her yet which is just sad. Liam seems to like her, that's what matters.
I hope he had a brilliant birthday night out……..and isn't too hungover today!
