Liam and Niall Talk About 'Difficult' Australia Trip

It's not often the boys in One Direction get serious when it comes to talking about their worldwide fame, they seem to quite chilled about it all and know that they have to make scarifies if they want to be in the biggest boy band in the world. But Liam and Niall opened up to the Herald Sun about their 'difficult' trip to Australia and New Zealand this time around.

Liam said "To be fair, it has been quite difficult in Australia this time"
"In the grand scheme of things worldwide I have gone out a lot less in Australia than anywhere else. I tried to go shopping one day and literally within minutes there were 60 girls following me around the shops. If one picture of you gets tweeted everyone knows exactly where you are and that's you done for the day, then you're stuck with people following you around"
Liam added that sometimes they weren't even able to leave their hotel rooms, and that people should remember they're just normal guys who need some down time occasionally.
"We are just normal lads, we do want our privacy sometimes just to throw a football around and let off a bit of steam, rather than constantly being in the public eye."

Niall agreed and admitted to asking their tour manager, Paul, if he could get him a top hotel room because he knew he'd be spending most of his time there. But he added..
"You have to look past it sometimes and just get out. There's no point living like a prisoner in your hotel. Even if they are nice hotels!"

I think it is easy for us as fans, or just onlookers, to forget how hard it must be for the boys sometimes.
It's easy to just see the good things, loads of money, getting to travel the world, having their dream job, etc, but if you actually take a moment to think about the negatives it's quite daunting.
I don't think I could handle being followed around constantly, anything you do gets photographed and you never get some peace. I know some of the boys are very private people as well.
And when Liam did stay in his hotel room someone actually climbed onto his balcony and stole his boxers…seriously, no privacy! Crazy.

Liam said before they came to Australia he couldn't wait to get a tan and go surfing lots, but he actually hasn't been able to as much as he'd like because of all the fans and paps.
Must be annoying being in such a fantastic place and not being able to enjoy it fully!
On top of all this they're half way across the world, away from family and friends….
I quite admire them for putting up with everything as much as they do, and they cope with it amazingly well.
