Louis Tomlinson Charity Football Game

Louis Tomlinson, as we probably all know, recently signed as a non-contract player for Doncaster Rovers - all the money he would have earned by playing for them will go to charity.
But before his first game for Doncaster Louis played in a game yesterday for Celtic. The match was for charity, all for former Bulgarian footballer Stiliyan Petrov who has battled leukaemia. The football teams were made up of former and current footballers, and other celebrities and they all helped raise thousands of pounds for the cause.

Wherever any member of One Direction go though there seems to be some sort of drama, and this football match was no exception.
The first thing that happened was when Louis' name was read out at Celtic Park the place irrupted with the sound of people booing (Video here) which was just disgusting. I totally understand if people don't like One Direction, I get that and respect that everybody has different opinions but to boo someone for anything is just vile, let alone at a charity match. The people that booed were footballs fans, not the fans that had flocked to see Louis, so they were there for Petrov. I don't know if they were forgetting that Petrov is the reason Louis was playing, he was doing it for charity and to help people out - that's a fact and him being in 1D doesn't change that. There is so much mob mentality at football games!
Anyway, we all (anyone with a brain) knows Louis was doing a good thing, and he's a million times better than anyone who booed.

Louis looked like he was really enjoying the game, until the next bit of drama occurred. Louis went to kick the ball and then he was tackled by professional Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor, who tripped him up.  (VIDEO HERE)

Louis seemed to fall awkwardly on his knee and laid on the pitch for a little while, before getting up and limping off to the side of the pitch, where he appeared to throw up, he then spent the rest of the game on the subs bench.
Louis' managed for the day said this "Agbonlahor smashed into him and he picked himself up, and then was ill in the dressing room area but he's not too bad now I think"
Things like this do happen in football all the time, Louis just got unlucky, but do remember that Agbonlahor didn't hurt Louis on purpose, and he has already apologised.

Hours after the game had finished Louis' mum took to twitter to say Louis was resting his knee and he understood that was what could happen in football and was now enjoying watching The X-Factor with his girlfriend, Eleanor, and friend, Stan.

The whole point of this charity match was to raise money for Petrov and to raise awareness, and that was definitely achieved. Thousands of pounds were raised for his cause, which Louis helped hugely with as ticket sales rocketed after it was announced he was playing, so a massive well done to everyone involved in making the event such a success for Petrov. I hope football fans do remember that all those celebrities contributed to that, and stop being thuggish and nasty about the whole thing, the tweets I've seen on twitter have been horrendous.

Louis' next match is for Doncaster Rovers on 18th September, all money he raises will go to Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice. Tickets £7 here!
